The name Almers is a combination of the names Allan and Mercedes, a husband-and-wife team whose shared dream gave life to the café. Allan, a former seaman, spent many years working overseas to provide capital for business. Mercedes pursued her passion for the culinary arts, building her career as a chef at Resorts World Manila and later at Hilton Manila, where she honed her skills in creating exceptional dishes and delivering world-class dining experiences.

Driven by a love for cooking and a desire to bring quality dining closer to their hometown, they founded Almers Cafe in Matalam, North Cotabato. Their goal was to create more than just a café—they wanted to build a place where families and friends could gather, enjoy delicious food, and experience genuine hospitality.
